Description

This Tsuga is a tall, graceful, single-trunked tree with lateral branches and a drooping leader. Its foliage is a lustrous green color, with a soft, fern-like texture. Fast growing, good screen, can be sheared to hedge. This plant is fire prone. The short, linear needles have unequal lengths and are set in the flat arrays of the twig. Underneath the leaves are broad, whitish bands. An abundance hanging cones is present on the tree, which mature in one year and fall, intact, to the ground.
